It’s very hard to find a toaster that actually does the job. We junked the VERY EXPENSIVE clunker, a big name product that just didn’t toast bread evenly on both sides. I mean, it’s not hard, is it? Apparently it is, So the De’Longhi Iconic is now a much loved household item.

We bought this purely to add an element of color to our kitchen as we have teal as theme flowing through living, dining and kitchen areas. So 4th star is for color! Otherwise this toaster just replaced a working toaster in our kitchen.Otherwise this is another toaster though seems well made and of quality. However from utility point alone, it doesn’t have anything extra or special. It lacks two features my old breville toaster had – the ‘high-lift’ option and ‘bit more’. In high-lift option, I could raise the bread as it was being toasted to see/inspect how it was being toasted. So for something where I was not sure of the time, I could stop immediately if it had reached desired level. Very useful and handy feature. Other option was ‘bit more’ function. If your toast didn’t reach desired browning, you could simply start the ‘bit more’. so it would I think add about 10-20 sec additional time. So it was good to set in between time or simply re-toast a little more without having to adjust the preset knob. I surely miss these features – then sometime we go for beauty over brain 🙂
