Perfect for brewing beer
Perfect range for beer, much better than standard ones.

Great for checking fermentation has completed (0.980 to 1.020 range S1630)
This review is for the S1630 0.980 to 1.020 hydrometer. When you want to know that the fermentation is complete, you check for a steady gravity reading over a couple of days right? Trouble is, with a full range hydrometer, the scale and resolution make it hard to determine if it’s steady or has dropped half to one point in that time. With its expanded scale either side of 0.0 this one makes it much easier. Covers most beers (finishing between 1.010 and 1.020) and wines (finishing around 0.099).Reasonable price for a hard-to-find bit of kit, and looks to be well calibrated sitting bang-on 0.0 in water at 20C.

Easy to read
The best hydrometer for beer making. Much better scale and easier to read than the standard hydrometer.
