Char Siu Pressure Cooker Pork
Crowd pleasing, delicious, melt in your mouth flavors. Great served with Asian greens. Char Siu Pressure Cooker Pork
Ingredients
- 500 ml chicken stock
- 2 tablespoons dry sherry
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
- 1 kg pork belly – skin removed
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- extra 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
Step 1
In pressure cooker, combine stock, soy sauce, sherry and hoisin sauce and bring to boil. Cook for 5 minutes to slightly reduce and thicken.
Step 2
Lower whole piece of pork belly into sauce and bring to pressure. Cook for 30 minutes and release pressure.
Step 3
Remove pork and allow to cool while continuing to simmer sauce and reduce for further 5 minutes. Remove sauce from pressure cooker and set aside to serve separately.
Step 4
Cut cooled pork into 3cm square pieces and place into bowl with combined honey, remaining hoisin and sesame oil.
Step 5
Return pressure cooker to high heat and pour in pork and sauce mixture and fry untie covered and golden in colour.
Step 6
Serve pork with rice, steamed Asian greens and remained simmer sauce.
