Apple & Sour Cream Cake

This old-fashioned apple cake is made with fresh apples and salted caramel frosting. Top it with extra apple slices and additional apple slices.

Ingredients
  

  • 80 g Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup Castor sugar
  • 1 cup coconut shredded
  • 200 g Sour cream
  • 2 cup self-raising flour
  • 425 gram tin of pie apples 5 granny smiths peeled finely sliced, cooked in microwave for 5 minutes

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter in Sauté Pan on low heat, add eggs and beat with whisk.
  • Add castor sugar, coconut, sour cream, flour and mix well
  • Add apples gently blending through cake.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Cook with lid on, vent open on low/medium heat until the lid is hot (5 mins) then turn down a little.
  • Cook for approximately 25 minutes.

Notes

Delicious hot or cold served with cream/ custard or ice cream.
