Blackberry Pie

This blackberry pie is a recipe I have used for many years, and it has always been a success! You can use frozen or fresh blackberries. If you prefer a sweeter mixture, add more sugar. Serve with vanilla ice-cream.
Enjoy the summer with this delicious and fresh blackberry pie.

Ingredients

  • cups  fresh blackberries
  • 3/4  cup  white sugar or more to taste (divided)
  • 1/2  cup  all-purpose flour
  • (9 inch)  double crust (ready-to-use pie crust)
  • tablespoons  milk

Method

  1. All ingredients should be gathered. Pre-heat the oven to a temperature of 425 degrees F (210 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine 3 1/2 cups blackberries and 1/2 cup of sugar with flour. Pour the mixture into a pie crust that has not been baked. Spread the remaining 1/2 cup of berries over the sweetened berries.
  3. Cover with top crust. Seal and crimp edges and cut vents into the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar on top and brush with milk.
  5. Bake pie for 15 minutes in a preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 375 degrees F. Cool on wire rack.
  6. Enjoy and serve!
