Chocolate Hot Cross Buns Pudding
Who doesn’t love bread and butter? So why not make it seasonal with hot cross buns. Chocolate Hot Cross Buns Pudding
Ingredients
- 4 Eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/3 cup Caster sugar
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 cup Pouring cream
- 1/2 tspn grated orange zest
- 1/3 cup orange juice
- 6 hot cross buns
- 100g dark chocolate, chopped (or melts)
- 2 tbsn hazelnuts, chopped (optional)
Step 1
Heat oven to 180C
Step 2
Whisk together eggs and sugar.
Step 3
Heat milk and cream until just simmering. Add OJ and zest.
Step 4
Tear buns into pieces and scatter in pan. Sprinkle chocolate over the top. Pour egg/cream mixture over and allow to soak into the buns. Sprinkle with nuts and place in the oven. Bake for 25-30min.
Step 5
Allow to cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve from the pan with silicone spatula.
Chef’s Tips
You can add whipped cream or ice-cream if desired.
